Plasma therapy as treatment on COVID-19 patients has not been found effective in reducing the progression to severe disease or death and so has been dropped from the clinical management guidelines, said the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Monday, 17 May.

భారత వైద్య పరిశోధనా మండలి(ఐసీఎంఆర్) మరో కీలక నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది. కరోనావైరస్ సోకిన బాధితులకు అత్యవసరంగా వైద్య చికిత్సలో ఉపయోగించే ప్మాస్మా థెరపీని కరోనా ప్రోటోకాల్ నుంచి తొలగిస్తున్నట్లు సోమవారం ప్రకటించింది. ఈ మేరకు సోమవారం రాత్రి కోవిడ్ ప్రోటోకాల్ టాస్క్ ఫోర్స్, వైద్యారోగ్యశాఖ, ఎయిమ్స్, ఐసీఎంఆర్ సంయుక్తంగా నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నాయి.
